Le bouyei (ou buyi) est une langue taï-kadaï, de la branche taï, parlée dans le Sud-Ouest et le centre province du Guizhou en République populaire de Chine. Des locuteurs, en nombre plus réduit, se trouvent dispersés dans le Yunnan, le Sichuan, ainsi que dans le Nord du Viêt Nam.

Le bouyei est une des langues taï du Nord, un des groupes des langues taï, qui font partie de la famille de langues taï-kadaï.

Écriture

Le bouyei n'est écrit que depuis 1956, date à laquelle il a été doté d'une écriture basée sur l'alphabet latin et réformée en 1981 et en 1985. La langue littéraire bouyei est basée sur la variante parlée à Fuxing dans le xian de Wangmo[2].

Bouyei (auch Buyei oder Buyi geschrieben) ist die Muttersprache des in China ansässigen gleichnamigen Bouyei-Volkes. Es gehört zur Gruppe der nördlichen Tai-Sprachen innerhalb Tai-Kadai-Sprachfamilie und ist eine tonale Sprache.

The Bouyei language (autonym: Haausqyaix, also spelled Buyi, Buyei or Puyi;[2] Chinese: 布依语; pinyin: Bùyīyǔ, Vietnamese: tiếng Bố Y or tiếng Giáy) is a language spoken by the Bouyei ethnic group[3] of Southern Guizhou Province, China. Classified as a member of the Northern Tai group in the Tai language branch of the Tai–Kadai language family, the language has over 2.5 million native speakers and is also used by the Giay people (Vietnamese: Giáy) in some parts of Vietnam. There are native speakers living in France or the United States as well, which emigrated from China or Vietnam. About 98% of the native speakers are in China.[2]
