Le luiseño ('atáaxum pomtéela ou chamtéela en luiseño) est une langue uto-aztèque de la branche des langues takiques parlée aux États-Unis, dans le sud de la Californie. Selon l'ouvrage Ethnologue, Languages of the World, le nombre de locuteurs est inférieur à 40 personnes sur une population ethnique de 2 000 Luiseños.

[en] Luiseño language

The Luiseño language is a Uto-Aztecan language of California spoken by the Luiseño, a Native American people who at the time of first contact with the Spanish in the 16th century inhabited the coastal area of southern California, ranging 50 miles (80 km) from the southern part of Los Angeles County, California, to the northern part of San Diego County, California, and inland 30 miles (48 km). The people are called "Luiseño", owing to their proximity to the Mission San Luis Rey de Francia.

Луисеньо (Luiseño, Quechnajuichom) — язык такийской ветви юто-ацтекских языков калифорнийских индейцев племени луисеньо, которые в настоящее время проживают в резервациях Сабоба, Ринкон и др. Этноним «луисеньо» происходит от названия испанской францисканской Миссии Сан Луис Рей занимавшейся христианизацией индейцев в долине реки Сан-Луис-Рей (район современного города Ошенсайд). Миссия была основана в 1798 году Фермином Ласуэном и названа в честь французского короля Людовика IX (1214—1270).
