Chiapanec is a presumably extinct indigenous Mexican language of the Oto-Manguean language family. The 1990 census[1] reported 17 speakers of the language in southern Chiapas out of an ethnic population of 32, but later investigations failed to find any speakers.[2]

There are, however, a number of written sources on the language. Vocabularies and grammars based on these materials include Aguilar Penagos (2012) and Carpio-Penagos and Álvarez-Vázquez (2014).

It is closely related to Mangue.

El idioma chiapaneco[1] es una lengua de México que en la actualidad se considera extinta. Su territorio étnico tradicional correspondía al municipio de Chiapa de Corzo y a toda la depresión central del estado mexicano de Chiapas. El chiapaneco era el idioma hablado por los antiguos chiapanecas o soctones. Se conservan en el habla española algunos apellidos, toponimias, nombres de objetos, danzas tradicionales y tradiciones.

Чьяпанек — один из индейских языков Мексики, относится к ото-мангской семье языков. По данным Ethnologue на 1990 год имелось 17 носителей языка[1], проживающих в южной части штата Чьяпас, однако, при более поздних исследованиях не было обнаружено ни одного носителя чьяпанек. Скорее всего язык следует считать мёртвым.
