Le proto-norrois (également proto-scandinave, norrois primitif, proto-nordique, ancien nordique, proto-norrois germanique et norrois proto-germanique) est un dialecte du proto-germanique qu'on parlait en Scandinavie jusqu'au VII^e siècle puis qui évolua en vieux norrois. Il était écrit avec l'alphabet runique vieux futhark[1]^,[2].

La place du proto-norrois dans l'évolution des langues scandinaves

• On considère que le proto-norrois est le premier dialecte qui se sépara du proto-germanique pour former le groupe des langues scandinaves.
• Dès le VII^e siècle, il évoluera ensuite en vieux scandinave, qui se sépara lui-même en scandinave occidental et en scandinave oriental.
• Dès le XV^e siècle, les langues scandinaves modernes apparaissent : principalement le norvégien, le danois, le suédois et l'islandais[1].

Die urnordische Sprache (manchmal auch zur späteren altnordischen Sprache gerechnet) ist die älteste überlieferte Form der nordgermanischen Sprachen und wurde vermutlich vom 1. oder 2. bis ins 8. Proto-Norse (also called Ancient Nordic, Ancient Scandinavian, Ancient Norse, Primitive Norse, Proto-Nordic, Proto-Scandinavian and Proto-North Germanic) was an Indo-European language spoken in Scandinavia that is thought to have evolved as a northern dialect of Proto-Germanic in the first centuries CE. It is the earliest stage of a characteristically North Germanic language, and the language attested in the oldest Scandinavian Elder Futhark inscriptions, spoken from around the 2nd to the 8th centuries CE (corresponding to the late Roman Iron Age and the Germanic Iron Age). It evolved into the dialects of Old Norse at the beginning of the Viking Age around 800 CE, which later themselves evolved into the modern North Germanic languages (Faroese, Icelandic, the three Continental Scandinavian languages, and their dialects).

Il proto-norreno, norreno primitivo, scandinavo antico o proto-germanico settentrionale era una lingua indoeuropea parlata un tempo in Scandinavia che si pensa si sia evoluta dal ceppo proto-germanico nei primi secoli dopo Cristo. È il primo stadio di una lingua caratteristica nord-germanica, e la lingua delle prime e più antiche iscrizioni runiche, parlata circa tra il terzo e il settimo secolo. Si è evoluta nei dialetti del norreno all'inizio dell'Era dei Vichinghi.
