Zumaya is an extinct Chadic language once spoken in Cameroon. It is known only from a few words recorded from the last speaker.[1] It may have been divergent within the Masa branch of Chadic.[2]

There are no known speakers; it is thought that the language use has shifted to Fulfulde.[3]
Distribution
About 10 Zumaya words were recorded from what was probably be the last speaker of this language by Daniel Barreteau. The belongs to the Masa group. The last speakers were found at Ouro-Lamordé, on the way to Bogo (Ouro-Zangui canton, Maroua commune, Diamaré department, Far North Region).[4]

Le zumaya est une langue tchadique du Cameroun. Selon Ethnologue, Languages of the World, elle était encore parlée par 25 personnes en 1987 à Ouro-Lamorde, un village proche de la ville de Maroua dans la région de l'Extrême-Nord. Elle fait partie des 19 langues camerounaises qui ont disparu entre 1983 – date de publication du premier Atlas linguistique du Cameroun – et 2004[1].
