lingvo.wikisort.org - LanguageTikar (also Tikali, Tikar-East, Tikari, Tingkala) is a Northern Bantoid, semi-Bantu language spoken in Cameroon by the Tikar people, as well as by the Bedzan Pygmies, who speak a dialect of the language.[2] According to linguist and anthropologist Harry H. Johnston, Semi-bantu and Bantu syntax suggests influence from mixed dynastic Egyptians and the "Negro languages in western and central Sudan."[3]

Classification
The little evidence available suggests that it is most closely related to the Mambiloid and Dakoid languages.[2]
Varieties
Tikar can be divided into three varieties, which are Tikari, Tige, and Tumu.[4]

Le tikar (ou ndob, ndome, tikali, tikar de l'Est, tikari, tingkala) est une langue bantoïde septentrionale parlée par les Tikar au Cameroun dans plusieurs régions : la région de l'Adamaoua, le département du Mayo-Banyo, l'arrondissement de Bankim ; la région du Centre, le département de Mbam-et-Kim, l'arrondissement de Ngambè-Tikar, disséminés au nord-ouest de Yoko et au nord-ouest de Foumban ; la région de l'Ouest, le département du Noun, l'arrondissement de Magba ; la région du Nord-Ouest, le département du Donga-Mantung, dans une petite zone frontalière[1].
