Астури́йский язы́к (самоназвания: asturianu, bable) — романский язык, относящийся к астурлеонской подгруппе иберо-романских языков и представляющей собою диалектный континуум. По другой распространённой точке зрения, считается, что весь этот диалектный континуум представлен одним астурлеонским языком. С этой точки зрения, астурийский язык является одним из письменных вариантов астурлеонского.

Название «астурийский язык», или «бабле», относится к той части этого континуума, которая находится на территории испанского автономного сообщества Астурия (другие локальные варианты — мирандский язык в Португалии и леонский, эстремадурский, кантабрийский языки в соответствующих регионах Испании).

Язык не имеет официального статуса, однако законы устанавливают, что власти должны поддерживать его сохранение и изучение.

История

Движение за отдельный статус астурлеонских говоров от испанского начал Рамон Менендес Пидаль в 1906 году. В 1980 году астурийский вариант кодифицирован Академией астурийского языка.

Asturian (/æˈstʊəriən/; asturianu [astuˈɾjanʊ],[4] formerly also known as bable [ˈbaβlɪ]) is a West Iberian Romance language spoken in the Principality of Asturias, Spain.[5] Asturian is part of a wider linguistic group, the Astur-Leonese languages. The number of speakers is estimated at 100,000 (native) and 450,000 (second language).[6] The dialects of the Astur-Leonese language family are traditionally classified in three groups: Western, Central, and Eastern. For historical and demographic reasons, the standard is based on Central Asturian. Asturian has a distinct grammar, dictionary, and orthography. It is regulated by the Academy of the Asturian Language. Although it is not an official language of Spain[7] it is protected under the Statute of Autonomy of Asturias and is an elective language in schools.[8] For much of its history, the language has been ignored or "subjected to repeated challenges to its status as a language variety" due to its lack of official status.[9]

El asturiano (también denominado bable)[6] es el glotónimo que la lengua asturleonesa recibe en el Principado de Asturias, lengua que tiene continuidad con las hablas tradicionales del Reino de León en León y Zamora (donde se denomina leonés), y Miranda de Duero en Portugal, donde es oficial en virtud de la Ley n.º 7/99, de 29 de enero de 1999 de la República Portuguesa (mirandés). Los muy diversos dialectos del asturiano se clasifican usualmente en tres grandes áreas geográficas: occidental, central y oriental; las tres áreas tienen continuidad con los dialectos leoneses por el sur. En el caso asturiano, por razones históricas y demográficas el estándar lingüístico está basado en el asturleonés central. El asturiano cuenta con una gramática, un diccionario de la lengua asturiana, el Diccionariu de la Llingua Asturiana, y unas normas ortográficas.[7] Está regulado por la Academia de la Lengua Asturiana, y aunque no goza de carácter oficial en el Estatuto de Autonomía, una ley regula su uso en Asturias.[8]
